Religious persecution in China (BBC interview with Bob Fu and Kuzzat Altay):
In the past week, countries across Asia have come into focus for their record on religious freedom. A report by advocacy group, Open Doors, says persecution against Christians in China is getting much worse. In western China, in Xinjiang province, an estimated 1 million Muslim Uyghurs are believed to be held in “political re-education camps”. This lively exchange I produced on BBC World News airs what is going on - and gets a firm rebuttal from Beijing.

The dark side of powerful China — its repression — can benefit US

"China’s treatment of its minorities is a product of a pernicious hyper-nationalistic ideology, Han-centrism, which asserts that the dominant ethnic group in China, the Han, are culturally and racially superior to other groups in China and outside of it.
